Based on 200 reviewsRiver Road Café is widely praised for its warm, family-owned atmosphere and consistently high-quality New Orleans–inspired cuisine. Guests frequently highlight the friendly, attentive service and the welcoming environment that makes it ideal for family gatherings, casual breakfasts, and relaxed outings. The menu, particularly breakfast offerings like hash browns and omelettes, receives positive remarks for freshness and flavor, though some drinks like the Bloody Mary are noted as milder than expected. The café's scenic location near the river adds to the overall inviting vibe, making it a favored spot for locals and visitors seeking a comforting dining experience with a personal touch.
My father lives nearby and I think he goes he at least twice a month. He takes us there every time we visit him. We love it! It’s a great family restaurant and I think we’ve met the whole family. They are so nice and the father, Emmett comes out of the kitchen every hour or so if it’s not too busy, introduces himself and chats a bit. They came to SC from Louisiana and their cooking is the real deal. Everything on the menu is top quality and tastes so good! Breakfast or Lunch: you can’t go wrong! They’re preparing to expand into the storefront next door and add lots more seating. Give them a try! They won’t be a secret much longer.
River Front Cafe is hands down one of my favorite spots in town! The moment you step in, you’re greeted with a warm, inviting atmosphere and stunning views of the river that instantly set the tone for a great experience. The vibe is relaxed yet vibrant—perfect for brunch with friends, a casual date, or even solo unwinding. The food? Exceptional. Every dish is clearly made with care, fresh ingredients, and bold flavors that hit the mark. Whether you’re going for a hearty breakfast, a light lunch, or one of their seasonal specials, you can count on it being delicious and beautifully presented. Pair it with a perfectly brewed coffee or a crisp glass of wine, and you’ve got a perfect meal. The staff is friendly and attentive without being overbearing, making you feel welcome from the first smile to the last bite. River Front Cafe has mastered the blend of quality, charm, and comfort—definitely a local treasure worth visiting again and again!
We have breakfast every Sunday at this wonderful New Orleans-themed family owned restaurant. The family members and staff are friendly and service is excellent! And the food? It always exceeds our expectation! We were there today and will probably be back again before next Sunday! Try it. You won't be sorry! Dave
Great breakfast. We tried hash brown meal (hash browns topped with gravy, eggs, cheese)and crawfish omelette. Hash browns cooked perfect. Bloody Mary(bit weak) but a good bloody mixture and cranberry mimosa. We will return for breakfast. Service good;was not busy when we arrived.
Had a very nice breakfast here today with my wife and in-laws. The food was great—and service by Julie was brilliant and timely!
Wow! I've been there twice and I can't wait to go again. The food, service, cleanliness, etc... was all very impressive. You can see the hard work that this family puts into this business, and it's obviously paying off. Keep doing your thing, and stay awesome! I will be seeing you again soon.
Great breakfast here! Service was excellent and the food delicious. The Dirty Bird was so good as was the omelette with andouille sausage and shrimp etoufee! Has a nice New Orleans vibe! Highly recommend. We will definitely return and anxious to try their lunch menu also.
